Requirements
- Proven experience building and maintaining component libraries or platform-like products serving multiple teams.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern frontend engineering.
- React experience is a plus.
- Expertise in designing maintainable systems with clear boundaries, versioning, and backwards compatibility.
- Strong understanding of testing practices and tooling, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Deep knowledge of accessibility and performance best practices for UI systems.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with designers and product engineers while navigating stakeholder tradeoffs.
- Strong quality mindset and ability to lead by example.
- Clear communication and listening skills.
- Ability to break down complex problems and drive solutions.
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for Telescope architecture, component standards, release practices, and quality bars.
- Drive and evolve the team's contribution model and inter-team engagement.
- Manage request flow, triage, and prioritization for the design systems team.
- Improve developer and contributor experience through tooling, automation, visual testing, and documentation workflows.
- Represent the design systems team in cross-team initiatives and align stakeholders.
- Coach and mentor engineers to grow technical leadership within the frontend community.
- Contribute hands-on to the codebase.
