Requirements
- Successfully led the design of complex, data-rich productivity tools or software systems.
- Deep understanding of how modern AI systems operate, including agentic workflows and multi-step execution.
- Experience mentoring and leading other designers with clear, constructive feedback.
- Ability to design unified experiences for both small startup teams and large enterprise customers.
- Portfolio showing a range of work from micro-interactions to large-scale information architecture.
- Commitment to craft ownership while building lightweight processes.
- Clarity in writing and reasoning to explain complex design decisions.
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to ask the right questions.
Responsibilities
- Shape a point of view on how project management and issue tracking evolve in an AI-native world.
- Design how people work alongside AI capabilities in YouTrack, from conversational interfaces to inline assistance.
- Develop interaction patterns for unsettled problems, including surfacing AI confidence and transparency.
- Prototype and test new concepts to reduce user friction.
- Keep a large, deep product coherent across boards, helpdesks, reports, and administration.
- Partner with product management and engineering to shape roadmap priorities from a design perspective.
