Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience in DevOps, data engineering, platform, or cloud infrastructure roles.
- Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience building and operating ETL/ELT data pipelines.
- Practical AWS expertise: Cost & Usage Report (CUR), Athena, Glue, S3, IAM, and Cost Explorer.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Scripting and automation experience using Python.
- Strong data modeling skills to design scalable, reusable schemas.
- Experience with BI and reporting tools like Amazon QuickSight or comparable platforms.
- Deep understanding of finance fundamentals including CAPEX vs. OPEX, budget cycles, and cost allocation.
- Bias toward automation and building durable, repeatable processes.
- Comfortable leveraging AI/LLM tools in workflows (Claude experience is a plus).
Responsibilities
- Build and own automated data pipelines that ingest AWS cost and usage data into a queryable analytics layer.
- Land cost data in S3, catalog with Glue, and optimize for performance and reliability at scale.
- Model data with consistent dimensions (project, product, service, hosting area, cost center) to ensure reusability.
- Automate tagging governance, audit tag coherence, surface drift, and produce remediation-ready reporting.
- Build reporting for multiple audiences, ranging from team-level detail to executive rollups.
- Deliver templated, parameterized self-service reports for Finance teams.
- Support the AWS Cloud Financial Management (CFM) assessment and operationalize its outputs.
- Help AI-enable cost data to explore spend and optimization directly in Claude.
