Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3–5 years’ experience in a financial analyst or management accountant role
- Strong experience with financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas
- Solid understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
- Practical experience supporting month-end close processes
- Strong understanding of job costing or project-based accounting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Comfortable in a fast-moving, growing business environment
Responsibilities
- Review and verify subcontractor and supplier invoices for accuracy, coding, and authorisation before payment
- Match invoices to job records and flag any discrepancies or unexplained cost variances
- Maintain a real-time view of committed costs and actual spend per job/claim
- Prepare and submit invoices to insurer clients within agreed payment windows
- Produce monthly profit and loss accounts and a rolling cash flow forecast
- Prepare a weekly aged debtor and aged creditor summary
- Provide a cost-per-claim analysis to support profitability insights
- Maintain financial records in compliance with HMRC and Companies House requirements
- Support year-end processes and liaise with external accountants
- Recommend improvements to existing financial processes and controls
