Requirements
- Demonstrated hands-on experience operating live broadcast video at scale in production.
- Deep understanding of the live broadcast signal chain, including redundancy, failover, and graceful degradation.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and/or Go.
- Hands-on experience with live streaming transport protocols (SRT, RTMP, Zixi, WebRTC).
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
- Experience working with SQL databases.
- Familiarity with NestJS or similar backend frameworks.
- Experience writing and executing unit and integration tests using Jest and Vitest.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
Responsibilities
- Operate, automate, and improve the live broadcast video pipeline (contribution, transcoding, packaging, and delivery) for high-volume event streaming.
- Monitor and safeguard stream health and viewer Quality of Experience (QoE) at scale.
- Design and implement data models and queries for SQL databases.
- Build and maintain backend microservices using Node.js/NestJS and/or Go.
- Write and execute unit and integration tests using Jest and Vitest.
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to deliver new features.
- Diagnose and resolve live streaming pipeline issues in real-time and drive improvements to redundancy and failover.
