Requirements

  • 10–15+ years of experience in business development, sales, or capture roles within technically complex industries such as AI/ML, autonomy, aerospace, defense, or SaaS
  • Proven track record of owning and closing large, complex deals within U.S. government or defense markets
  • Strong understanding of defense acquisition processes, procurement cycles, and government contracting structures
  • Demonstrated experience building and executing capture strategies for strategic opportunities
  • Ability to engage credibly with engineering, product, and operational stakeholders on technical topics
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-stakes environments
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience with autonomy, AI/ML, or unmanned systems is highly desirable
  • Prior military experience or existing defense/aerospace relationships are a strong plus
  • Ability to travel for customer engagements and industry events as required

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the full sales lifecycle from pipeline generation through close for Hivemind opportunities across assigned territories
  • Develop and execute capture and territory strategies aligned with long-term business and defense market objectives
  • Identify, qualify, and shape new business opportunities through deep understanding of mission needs, procurement pathways, and budget priorities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with defense stakeholders, program offices, and key decision-makers across government and industry
  • Lead proposal development in coordination with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and operations
  • Conduct competitive analysis and position solutions effectively within complex, multi-stakeholder defense environments
  • Manage deal progression, forecasting accuracy, CRM discipline, and pipeline hygiene
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements
  • Partner closely with technical teams to translate customer requirements into compelling operational solutions
  • Communicate pipeline status, risks, and strategic updates clearly to internal leadership
