Requirements

  • 8–10 years of professional experience in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience managing large-scale programs or divisions.
  • Prior experience leading work within a State Education Agency is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success driving implementation of complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Track record of producing measurable improvements in student outcomes.
  • Experience managing grant relationships, setting performance expectations, and supporting partners.
  • Ability to build trust with diverse state and district leaders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capacity to translate evidence and data into actionable guidance.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engagement with a portfolio of 4–6 states through the State Implementation Fund as primary relationship manager.
  • Contribute substantive input to state program strategy and organizational planning.
  • Translate organizational strategy into actionable program plans, managing timelines and deliverables.
  • Identify and address implementation barriers by connecting states to resources, evidence, and peer learning.
  • Monitor and analyze legislation and policy issues affecting state program partners.
  • Represent Accelerate externally with state-level stakeholders and education leaders.
  • Partner with the CEO and peer leadership to ensure program alignment with mission and strategic priorities.
