Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in education, curriculum, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of K-5 or secondary (6-12) literacy classroom teaching experience.
- Experience with multilingual and diverse learners.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior-level district role or leading systems-level work.
- Deep knowledge of evidence-based literacy instruction.
- Experience influencing diverse audiences and representing organizations externally.
- Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, project-based design environments.
- Commitment to equitable learning opportunities and culturally relevant pedagogy.
- Availability to travel up to 15–20% annually.
Responsibilities
- Build and execute departmental strategy in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Design and oversee initiatives to ensure deliverables are on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Lead multiple complex projects simultaneously while delegating effectively.
- Apply deep content expertise in literacy, pedagogy, and systems-level leadership.
- Manage project budgets, grant-funded initiatives, and resources.
- Communicate effectively with diverse audiences including teachers, administrators, and policymakers.
- Represent the organization externally through thought leadership and speaking engagements.
