Requirements
- Deep data engineering judgment with experience operating production-scale platforms.
- Hands-on proficiency in writing production code, building CI/CD workflows, and debugging failures.
- Strong understanding of ingestion fundamentals including APIs, CDC, backfills, and idempotency.
- Expertise in Snowflake warehouse design, RBAC, performance tuning, and cost management.
- Proven ability to manage data quality, anomaly detection, and business-rule reconciliation.
- Experience sequencing complex, ambiguous work and writing design documentation.
- Capability to align technical decisions with business outcomes and resolve technical blockers.
- Experience collaborating with Engineering and Analytics stakeholders to define requirements.
- Ability to use AI tools for debugging and building agent-ready data products.
Responsibilities
- Design and manage the data platform architecture, including ingestion patterns, warehouse design, and access governance.
- Decide on streaming versus batch processing strategies based on business value and operational needs.
- Partner with Platform Engineering to integrate data infrastructure securely with core systems.
- Own end-to-end data integration processes from source profiling and design to QA and support.
- Ensure pipeline reliability through effective monitoring, alerting, incident response, and runbooks.
- Migrate legacy pipelines and retire brittle reporting paths like Azure Data Factory and SQL backup workflows.
- Govern Snowflake environments, including roles, performance tuning, cost controls, and service account management.
- Implement data contracts and observability practices to ensure schema stability and data quality.
- Leverage AI and automation to accelerate debugging, documentation, and pipeline development.
