Requirements
- Hands-on experience within a lean, high-growth legal function.
- Proven ability to serve as the primary legal counsel without delegating execution to associates.
- Strong experience in commercial contracts including MSAs, SOWs, and revenue-share structures.
- Demonstrated ability to manage M&A deals, specifically diligence and purchase agreement execution.
- Experience with multi-state operational compliance and navigating local/state regulations.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations, particularly regarding cameras and LPR/ALPR technology.
- Expertise in developing legal infrastructure, SOPs, and contract management playbooks from scratch.
- Ability to translate complex legal risks into clear business advice for executive leadership.
- Willingness to travel approximately 6 weeks per year for company offsites and location launches.
Responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate, and close commercial agreements with property owners, vendors, and partners.
- Support full-cycle M&A execution including diligence, risk allocation, and post-close integration.
- Manage multi-state regulatory and permitting compliance infrastructure across 40+ states.
- Oversee data privacy, governance, and compliance related to LPR/ALPR and driver data.
- Direct the company's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks and patents.
- Advise leadership on employment law, including offer letters, terminations, and contractor classification.
- Coordinate with outside counsel for litigation and specialized regulatory matters.
- Build and maintain legal playbooks, templates, and intake systems to scale the legal function.
