Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience developing and supporting healthcare data integrations or interface solutions.
- Previous experience leading, mentoring, or providing technical guidance to engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of HL7 v2 messaging standards (ADT, ORM, ORU, SIU).
- Experience working with FHIR standards and healthcare interoperability frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with integration engines such as Mirth Connect, Iguana, or similar platforms.
- Strong proficiency with RESTful APIs and healthcare data exchange methodologies.
- Experience developing scripts and integrations using JavaScript or similar scripting languages.
- Working knowledge of Linux/UNIX and Windows environments.
- Familiarity with EMR systems, healthcare data structures, and clinical workflows.
- Understanding of HIPAA requirements and healthcare data security best practices.
- Knowledge of cloud-based integration concepts and modern interoperability architectures.
Responsibilities
- Lead the analysis, design, development, deployment, and support of healthcare data integrations with EMRs and third-party systems.
- Serve as the technical lead and escalation point for interface architecture, production issues, and integration strategy.
- Design, build, and maintain integration workflows using healthcare interoperability standards and integration platforms.
- Develop and support data exchange solutions utilizing HL7, FHIR, RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and related technologies.
- Perform ETL activities, data transformations, and complex healthcare data mappings.
- Monitor integration environments and proactively identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
- Provide technical mentorship, code reviews, and guidance to integration engineering team members.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for integrations, workflows, troubleshooting, and operational processes.
