Requirements

  • 8+ years of production-level software development experience.
  • Significant experience with native desktop or platform-level applications.
  • Deep, hands-on experience with native Windows development (Win32 APIs, kernel-mode components, or driver development).
  • Strong proficiency in C++ for production systems.
  • Experience with languages and frameworks including JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Swift.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based development workflows and version control (GitHub).
  • Demonstrated ability to own the full lifecycle of complex features from design to deployment.
  • Proven experience defining engineering standards and leading code/design reviews.
  • Strong technical research skills for analyzing undocumented or closed-source systems.
  • Enthusiasm for mob programming as a primary working mode.
  • Ability to travel 3-5 times a year to NYC or Reston, VA office.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate daily via mob programming to solve complex technical problems and unblock team members.
  • Design and implement secure solutions for Bluebook across Windows, MacOS, iOS, and ChromeOS.
  • Write production-grade code for native and web environments with a focus on low-level OS interfacing.
  • Lead architectural discussions, code reviews, and testing strategies to ensure system resilience and performance.
  • Decompose complex product requirements into functional technical tasks.
  • Drive continuous improvement of engineering practices, including AI-augmented and agentic development patterns.
  • Investigate and resolve complex production issues by identifying and addressing root causes.
