Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in hospital revenue cycle, charge capture, or CDM.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of certification and experience).
  • Advanced knowledge of CPT/HCPCS coding and reimbursement structures.
  • Expertise in Charge Description Master (CDM) structure and clinical application.
  • Strong background in auditing and regulatory compliance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
  • Ability to analyze financial impacts of charge issues and workflow gaps.
  • Experience with dashboard creation and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor departmental charge capture accuracy through analysis of work queues and reconciliation reports.
  • Identify charge capture gaps, workflow issues, and systemic revenue loss risks.
  • Provide guidance, training, and education to clinical departments.
  • Partner with the CDM team on updates and recommend process improvements.
  • Conduct pre/post-bill audits to validate charge mappings and billing rules.
  • Analyze trends and root causes impacting reimbursement, compliance, and financial performance.
  • Develop data-driven reports and dashboards to provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Collaborate with Coding, IT, Finance, and Compliance teams to resolve issues.
