Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in hospital revenue cycle, charge capture, or CDM.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of certification and experience).
- Advanced knowledge of CPT/HCPCS coding and reimbursement structures.
- Expertise in Charge Description Master (CDM) structure and clinical application.
- Strong background in auditing and regulatory compliance.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
- Ability to analyze financial impacts of charge issues and workflow gaps.
- Experience with dashboard creation and financial reporting.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Monitor departmental charge capture accuracy through analysis of work queues and reconciliation reports.
- Identify charge capture gaps, workflow issues, and systemic revenue loss risks.
- Provide guidance, training, and education to clinical departments.
- Partner with the CDM team on updates and recommend process improvements.
- Conduct pre/post-bill audits to validate charge mappings and billing rules.
- Analyze trends and root causes impacting reimbursement, compliance, and financial performance.
- Develop data-driven reports and dashboards to provide recommendations to leadership.
- Collaborate with Coding, IT, Finance, and Compliance teams to resolve issues.
