Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of billing and accounts receivable experience in a healthcare office environment.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to learn and adapt to internal software programs.
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to payer policies, protocols, and contracts.
- Knowledge of timely filing limits and appeal processes.
- Post-secondary degree preferred.
- Coding experience is considered a plus.
Responsibilities
- Contact insurance carriers and 3rd parties daily to collect outstanding balances.
- Resolve disputes, claim denials, and non-payment issues.
- Adhere to payer policies, protocols, and timely filing limits.
- Appeal claims when appropriate and within filing parameters.
- Reconcile outstanding balances ensuring exhaustion of resolution efforts prior to write-off.
- Research payer refund requests, recoupments, and credit balances for accuracy.
