Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of full-time teaching experience in English Language Arts or a related humanities field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, History, Education, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of ELA instructional best practices and college- and career-readiness standards.
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing, editing, reading comprehension, and analytical thinking.
  • Deep awareness of classroom challenges and student learning needs across diverse educational contexts.
  • Experience working with or in communities of color and/or understanding diverse educational environments.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and deadlines.
  • Growth mindset with openness to feedback, iteration, and continuous learning.
  • Curriculum writing experience in ELA or familiarity with instructional design is a strong plus.
  • Availability to work U.S.-based hours (9 AM–5 PM Eastern Time) and work effectively in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop rigorous, standards-aligned ELA curriculum content including lessons, units, and supplemental learning materials for grades 3–12.
  • Write, revise, and refine instructional content to ensure clarity, instructional coherence, and alignment with college- and career-readiness standards.
  • Curate high-quality literary and informational texts that meet instructional goals and support diverse student engagement.
  • Peer review curriculum components to ensure alignment with design principles, academic standards, and instructional best practices.
  • Collaborate with curriculum, assessment, product, and professional development teams to support cross-functional content initiatives.
  • Manage multiple content development projects simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Incorporate feedback through iterative drafting, revision cycles, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Contribute to both digital and print-based instructional materials and support broader organizational content needs.
