Requirements
- Substantial experience leading a first-line financial-crime operation within a regulated bank, fintech, or crypto institution.
- Proven track record of actively owning and improving operational financial-crime metrics.
- Deep competence in risk-based calibration of controls to avoid over-blocking.
- Commercial and capital literacy to manage cost-to-serve and financial efficiency.
- Executive presence to defend the operating model and risk posture to regulators and the Board.
- Operational agility to work across distinct regulated entities (Bank and VASP).
- High-ownership leadership style with a focus on building robust operational coverage.
- Demonstrated ability to translate incidents into improved first-line standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, scale, and run end-to-end first-line processes for alerts, RFIs, onboarding, screening, and monitoring.
- Maintain operation within Board-ratified appetite bands while making definitive judgements.
- Accountable for AFC metrics including alert volume, manual-review rates, and payment ratios.
- Partner with the CFO to map capital and cost-to-serve impact for unified financial-crime effectiveness.
- Represent the first line in Business Unit PGCs as the owner of KYC/AML rules.
- Manage and develop AFC analysts to eliminate dependencies and ensure operational coverage.
- Optimize manual-review models to reduce user friction and customer onboarding delays.
- Partner with CISO and AI teams to increase automated clearance rates and reduce false positives.
