Requirements
- Real production experience building with LLMs and agents.
- Solid judgment on core AI challenges: grounding, retrieval, context design, memory, cost, latency, and safety.
- Ability to identify and implement reusable patterns in agent architecture.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Proficiency in APIs, cloud platforms, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
- Track record of setting technical direction and mentoring other engineers.
- Ability to explain complex technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with RAG, hybrid search, and reranking preferred.
- Experience with LLM evaluation methods (LLM-as-judge, regression harnesses) preferred.
- Knowledge of LLM observability, cost/latency tuning, and prompt caching preferred.
- Experience in DTC subscription, marketplace, or growth-stage business environments is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own agents end to end, including orchestrator and sub-agent design, system prompts, memory, and response contracts.
- Design and maintain the production agent runtime to support multi-agent orchestration and secure tool execution.
- Develop the tool layer for agents, ensuring robust retrieval, search grounding, and account action handling.
- Implement layered safety models, including input/output guardrails, intent handling, and PII boundaries.
- Advance evaluation frameworks using structured checks and LLM-as-judge to ensure measurable agent quality.
- Instrument agents for production observability, including session/turn logging, tool traces, and cost monitoring.
- Develop reusable platform components and conventions to scale agent development efficiency.
- Set technical direction, lead code reviews, and partner with product/data teams to define agent use cases.
