Requirements

  • 5+ years of sales experience with a track record of closing new business and managing renewals in SLED accounts.
  • Direct experience selling into state agencies, municipal governments, county offices, K-12 districts, or universities.
  • Fluency in SLED procurement, including state contract vehicles, budget cycles, and purchasing decision-making.
  • Existing relationships with resellers, distributors, or systems integrators active in the SLED market.
  • Experience selling cybersecurity solutions, threat intelligence, or endpoint security platforms.
  • Strong CRM discipline and ability to maintain accurate pipeline data.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and adapt within a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Proven experience balancing proactive renewal management with active pipeline generation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a mix of established accounts and develop new white space within SLED (state, local, education) markets.
  • Execute a 50/50 sales motion involving renewal management and new pipeline generation.
  • Navigate complex government procurement cycles and utilize state contract vehicles (e.g., NASPO, OMNIA Partners).
  • Engage with state CISOs, municipal IT teams, university security, and public school districts.
  • Execute cold outreach sequences and maintain disciplined pipeline management in CRM.
  • Maintain accurate and defensible sales forecasts.
