Requirements
- Deep, hands-on AWS networking expertise in production at scale.
- Strong vendor-agnostic networking fundamentals: IP addressing (IPv4/IPv6), routing, DNS, TCP/IP, BGP, and NAT.
- Demonstrated experience with IPv6 in a cloud or large network environment.
- Production experience with cloud networking primitives (VPC, transit/peering, IPAM, private connectivity) on AWS.
- Experience with Kubernetes networking (EKS), including CNI behavior, pod, service, and ingress levels.
- Infrastructure-as-code proficiency (Terraform or equivalent) in a GitOps workflow.
- Ability to operate independently, drive architectural decisions, and communicate technical tradeoffs.
- Experience with private DNS in Route 53.
- Demonstrated history of setting technical direction and influencing without authority across an organization.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and operate the network foundation for platform and product teams.
- Design and deploy IPv6-native VPC architecture and IPv6 networking for EKS workloads.
- Define long-term strategy for network addressing, connectivity, and scaling across multiple cloud providers.
- Establish networking standards and best practices for the engineering organization.
- Act as the primary authority on cloud networking decisions and mentor engineers to raise the team's networking competency.
