Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building and shipping production systems at scale.
- Proven ability to own technical outcomes across multiple teams.
- Deep backend fundamentals and system-design expertise.
- Experience shipping production code in Ruby on Rails, or equivalent experience in Python/Django or Node.js with a commitment to ramp up on Rails quickly.
- Expertise in integrating AI tools into daily engineering workflows to improve output.
- Strong technical judgment regarding when to trust or discard AI-generated output.
- Ability to work autonomously on hard, ambiguous problems without waiting for perfect information.
- Strong communication skills for conveying technical bets to engineers and executives.
- Experience working directly with product and design as a peer.
Responsibilities
- Take business requirements through design, development, and production across pod boundaries with minimal handoffs.
- Set the standard for high-quality, AI-assisted engineering practices across the organization.
- Architect systems that span multiple services and teams while balancing speed, quality, and long-term maintainability.
- Partner directly with product, design, and data teams as a technical collaborator.
- Mentor senior engineers through code reviews, design feedback, and investment in technical problem-solving.
- Identify and resolve gaps in organizational processes.
