Requirements
- JD degree and licensed attorney.
- 5-10 years of experience working on payments-related matters in a law firm, bank, regulatory agency, or financial industry advocacy.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp complex business and legal concepts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and highly team-oriented.
- Ability to form and maintain strong working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage changing deadlines.
- Strong business judgment, strategic thinking, and collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional research and writing skills.
- Mastery of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and virtual meeting platforms (Webex, Zoom, Teams).
- Ability to engage in regular travel for meetings and conferences.
Responsibilities
- Draft or oversee the drafting of comment letters, whitepapers, blog posts, and amicus briefs.
- Advocate Association positions in meetings with federal agencies on payments issues.
- Serve as primary point of contact for member executives on advocacy matters.
- Develop and lead issue-oriented advocacy meetings with regulators, bank executives, and Congressional staff.
- Maintain relationships with government and legislative affairs staff at member banks.
- Stay apprised of payments-related advocacy developments in real time.
- Serve as a subject matter expert to Association staff.
- Participate in public forums and conferences as an expert.
- Assist with planning and executing the Association’s Annual Conference.
