Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sales in the energy industry.
  • Experience working at a residential DER OEM, DERMS, VPP platform, or demand response company.
  • Familiarity with wholesale electricity markets, demand response programs, and how residential assets participate in those markets.
  • Proven ability to manage long, complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, including data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work product.
  • Ability to self-initiate and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Google Suite, Salesforce, and Slack.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage new relationships with residential DER partners across North America.
  • Deepen relationships with existing partners to sell and launch new programs in additional territories.
  • Find sustainable business models balancing acquisition fees and profitability.
  • Work cross-functionally with Partnerships, Energy Markets, Product Management, Engineering, Legal, Operations, and Marketing teams.
  • Own the full sales cycle from initial outreach through relationship development, contract negotiation, program launch, and ongoing account management.
  • Attend industry conferences and in-person meetings to represent Voltus.
  • Share learnings and progress internally to refine residential offerings.
