Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a data analyst or business analyst working with large datasets.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with healthcare claims data (e.g., 837 EDI, medical billing, encounter data).
  • Experience working with very large data sets of medical and pharmacy claims.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL.
  • Familiarity with Spark, Snowflake, DPE, or similar big data frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices for analytics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in complex environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across the organization.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed data quality audits to detect, troubleshoot, and resolve issues impacting accuracy.
  • Develop and execute SQL queries to validate data transformations and support analysis.
  • Troubleshoot ETL processes and data architectures for performance and quality.
  • Design and maintain data mappings to convert raw medical claims and eligibility data into standardized models.
  • Develop and maintain recurring and ad hoc reports for internal and external clients.
  • Partner with data engineers to build and scale data pipelines and improve performance.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate needs into technical specifications.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on healthcare claims data, risk, and trends.
