Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a data analyst or business analyst working with large datasets.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with healthcare claims data (e.g., 837 EDI, medical billing, encounter data).
- Experience working with very large data sets of medical and pharmacy claims.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL.
- Familiarity with Spark, Snowflake, DPE, or similar big data frameworks.
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices for analytics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in complex environments.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across the organization.
- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed data quality audits to detect, troubleshoot, and resolve issues impacting accuracy.
- Develop and execute SQL queries to validate data transformations and support analysis.
- Troubleshoot ETL processes and data architectures for performance and quality.
- Design and maintain data mappings to convert raw medical claims and eligibility data into standardized models.
- Develop and maintain recurring and ad hoc reports for internal and external clients.
- Partner with data engineers to build and scale data pipelines and improve performance.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate needs into technical specifications.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on healthcare claims data, risk, and trends.
