Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience in consumer credit strategy, credit risk management, or related quantitative roles.
- Proven experience designing and optimizing credit policies and customer segmentation for consumer lending products.
- Strong quantitative skills, including financial modeling, cohort analysis, and statistical output interpretation.
- Proficiency in SQL is required.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex analysis into clear, decision-ready recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Risk teams.
- Experience with Python or R is considered a strong asset.
- Familiarity with Canadian credit bureau data (Equifax, TransUnion) is a plus.
- Knowledge of OSFI/FCAC regulatory expectations for consumer credit is a plus.
- Experience with Champion/Challenger testing or A/B testing frameworks is a plus.
- Exposure to IFRS 9 provisioning or credit loss modelling is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Refine credit strategies including approval criteria, credit limits, pricing, and policy exceptions across all lending products.
- Analyze customer segmentation and credit performance to identify underserved segments and growth opportunities.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to implement policy changes and new decisioning logic.
- Synthesize portfolio performance data—such as delinquency, loss rates, and vintage curves—into strategic insights for leadership.
- Build and maintain financial models to quantify expected P&L impact of credit decisions and strategic changes.
- Monitor macroeconomic signals and regulatory developments to adjust lending strategies.
- Develop and monitor risk scorecards and early warning indicators to detect portfolio deterioration.
