Requirements
- 2+ years experience managing managers with direct reports who were themselves people managers.
- 10+ years total experience in technical roles.
- Proven track record of owning platform, infrastructure, data, or developer-productivity areas.
- Experience evolving platform engineering practices across multiple teams.
- Strong ability to make and defend build-vs-buy and architecture trade-offs.
- Proficiency with LLM-based tools and AI-native workflows.
- Excellent written communication skills for strategy and trade-off documentation.
- Comfortable with direct, candid feedback and disagreement.
- Experience leading remote-first, distributed engineering teams (preferred).
- Experience building developer platforms or AI tooling for internal engineers (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Lead a multi-team Platform org by owning company-level objectives and engineering plans.
- Translate company priorities and product-engineering needs into a platform roadmap.
- Manage architecture-level trade-offs for infrastructure, data, developer experience, and AI tooling.
- Coach engineering managers through feedback, growth plans, and performance management.
- Drive AI-native development practices including flow-based delivery and vertical slicing.
- Ensure platform reliability through effective SLO/SLA management and incident response.
- Build 'paved roads' and golden paths that internal engineering teams adopt.
