Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in municipal building design and infrastructure engineering.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with municipal stakeholders like public works directors, fire/police chiefs, village engineers, and village managers.
- Strong understanding of municipal project workflows, including design, permitting, and construction.
- Knowledge of municipal funding mechanisms like MFT, TIF, and grants.
- Proven track record in business development or sales within the architecture, engineering, or public works sector.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to attend evening public meetings, hearings, or industry events as needed.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as IDOT, IEPA, and MWRD.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a business development strategy to grow Valdes’ project pipeline with municipal clients.
- Identify and pursue project opportunities in municipal buildings and infrastructure engineering.
- Leverage existing relationships and build new ones with key municipal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal leadership to align business development efforts with strategic goals.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the Chicagoland municipal market, procurement processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Work with the marketing team to create tailored proposals and presentations.
- Represent Valdes at municipal-focused events, such as village board meetings and public hearings.
- Participate in industry organizations to enhance visibility and network.
- Track and report on business development metrics to support strategic growth.
