Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a U.S. healthcare setting.
- Hands-on experience with insurance eligibility verification and prior authorization processing.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance plans, deductibles, copays, and coinsurance.
- Experience using insurance portals and payer websites.
- Proficiency in EHR/EMR systems.
- Experience handling inbound patient phone calls in a medical office.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliable laptop or desktop computer with high-speed internet (min 25 Mbps).
- Noise-canceling headset and webcam for virtual meetings.
- Ability to submit NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments.
- Review deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and patient financial responsibility.
- Submit and monitor prior authorization requests via insurance portals and websites.
- Update and document patient insurance and demographic information in EHR/EMR systems.
- Manage inbound patient phone calls and assist with general inquiries.
- Maintain accurate records of authorization status and supporting documentation.
- Ensure strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality in all tasks.
