Requirements
- 8+ years of total experience in software engineering.
- 3–4 years of engineering leadership experience managing multiple teams, squads, or other managers.
- Demonstrated track record of owning delivery predictability and meeting organizational commitments.
- Hands-on experience defining SDLC processes, code review standards, and change management workflows.
- Deep understanding of operating distributed backend systems in a high-stakes, regulated fintech or banking environment.
- Experience managing engineering metrics like cycle time, defect escape rates, and blocker aging.
- Strong, evidence-based perspective on driving genuine adoption of AI-assisted development tooling.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with incident response, observability, and audit-readiness protocols.
- Access to a dedicated workspace and a high-speed, reliable internet connection.
Responsibilities
- Ensure function-wide delivery predictability by consistently meeting committed scope and deadlines.
- Define and enforce unified SDLC governance, backend change management, and engineering standards.
- Manage, develop, and mentor Engineering Managers across the function, including performance management and hiring.
- Drive the adoption of AI-first engineering standards and tooling throughout the organization.
- Own the function-level tech-debt roadmap and capacity planning to ensure engineering alignment with product goals.
- Facilitate engineering incident response, conduct post-mortems, and ensure resolution of action items.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives and manage dependencies to prevent engineering bottlenecks.
