Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, with experience in fraud, trust & safety, risk, abuse prevention, or adjacent domains.
- Experience building fraud detection or risk decisioning systems such as rule engines, scoring systems, or policy frameworks.
- Strong backend engineering fundamentals with experience designing scalable, event-driven systems.
- Ability to reason about distributed architecture tradeoffs and debug production issues across multiple layers of the stack.
- Experience partnering with end-users and cross-functional stakeholders to discover problems and validate solutions.
- Strong communication skills to turn ambiguous needs into shippable work.
- Good judgment and ability to prioritize technical tasks effectively.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement fraud detection and risk decisioning systems, rule engines, scoring pipelines, and event-driven risk signals.
- Create investigation and review tooling that helps our Trust & Safety operations team triage, investigate, and resolve cases efficiently.
- Collaborate with product and operations stakeholders to identify security exposures, propose solutions, and help prioritize the roadmap.
- Develop a deep understanding of fraud vectors such as stolen cards, synthetic identities, and campaign abuse.
- Strengthen payment infrastructure to harden the transaction lifecycle against abuse.
- Mentor teammates and share domain expertise to unblock development through code reviews.
