Requirements
- 5+ years building web applications, backend services, and APIs.
- Strong PHP/Laravel experience preferred.
- Expertise in using AI agents as a default starting point for development.
- Ability to plan, prompt, evaluate output, and verify code effectively.
- Proven experience in tracking code behavior in production and owning outcomes.
- Ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs and make defensible decisions.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives.
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving cross-functional alignment.
- Ability to operate with high intensity and set high performance standards.
- Experience working closely with product managers and design teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement complex, high-quality features across the full stack: backend services, APIs, lambdas, and frontend.
- Start with the agent, not the editor; invest time in planning and intent articulation.
- Review AI-generated code with the same rigor you'd apply to any code to ensure correctness.
- Set the standard for AI-assisted code review on your team and model effective verification.
- Lead small to medium-sized technical initiatives by providing direction and surfacing dependencies early.
- Mentor and develop more junior engineers through code review, pairing, and direct feedback.
- Make reversible decisions fast and flag irreversible ones early to support operational delivery.
- Propose and implement improvements to code quality, processes, and team norms.
