Requirements
- At least 5 years of paralegal or legal compliance experience with a bachelor's degree, or 7 years of relevant experience.
- Paralegal certificate is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of 501(c)(3) legal and regulatory laws.
- Demonstrated experience supporting data and record management in legal settings.
- Experience drafting legal or other formal memoranda summarizing laws, requirements, and policies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with Salesforce.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience handling confidential, sensitive, and attorney-client privileged communications.
- Commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI) practice.
Responsibilities
- Own and improve the LRC intake, prioritization, and service delivery framework.
- Manage LRC department calendars, mail, and meeting agendas.
- Oversee review and payment processing for outside counsel bills and vendor subscriptions.
- Design and maintain LRC knowledge systems, file structures, and access restrictions.
- Design and maintain trackers for litigation, subpoenas, and Congressional inquiries.
- Research and synthesize nonprofit regulatory requirements and assess operational impact.
- Identify and implement improvements to systems and processes for tracking regulated activities and mandatory filings.
- Define and execute contract intake criteria and escalation standards for contract reviews.
- Evaluate vendor cost effectiveness and develop recommendations for contract policies.
