Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
  • Minimum 8 years of engineering experience, or 5 years of related engineering experience with an Advanced degree.
  • Strong Python programming skills.
  • SQL proficiency.
  • Familiarity with high-performance distributed computing.
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art architectures, machine learning techniques, and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Tensorflow, JAX).
  • Experience applying machine learning to real-world scientific and engineering simulations (e.g., structural, CFD, thermal).
  • Understanding of uncertainty quantification (UQ) and statistical inference techniques.
  • Publication record in scientific machine learning or AI4Science preferred.
  • Experience with gas turbine engines or airbreathing propulsion applications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply novel machine learning frameworks and methodologies to support turbine component design and evaluation within the Hot Section Engineering organization.
  • Deploy AI/ML applications and agentic workflows into existing processes and tools.
  • Communicate technical solutions, progress, and insights to both internal and external customers and leadership.
  • Advocate for and participate in fundamental AI/ML research with academic and external research institute partners.
  • Collaborate with RTX AI/ML teams to strengthen corporate-level AI/ML initiatives and infrastructure.
