Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Database Administrator in high-performance production environments.
- Deep technical expertise in MSSQL (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS), PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
- Experience managing databases within GCP and AWS cloud environments.
- Demonstrated ability to improve query performance and reduce cloud costs through optimization.
- Extensive experience implementing failover clusters, replication, and backup/recovery strategies.
- Expert ability in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Proficiency in engine-level logic such as T-SQL, PL/pgSQL, and MQL.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.
- Experience with observability platforms (e.g., New Relic) is preferred.
- Knowledge of compliance and security standards like SOC2, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and maintain CloudSQL/PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB environments.
- Optimize database performance and cloud infrastructure costs through query tuning and instance right-sizing.
- Implement security measures including encryption, row-level security, and PII masking to meet SOC2 and GDPR standards.
- Design and implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies to ensure zero data loss.
- Integrate database observability into monitoring stacks and infrastructure-as-code ecosystems.
- Lead complex data migrations and schema changes with minimal downtime.
- Partner with Application Architects on scalable data modeling and mentor developers on schema and code improvements.
- Manage workflows via Jira and define/track reliability metrics.
