Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in SQL Server Database Administration.
- Experience with visualization technologies such as VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Knowledge of source/change control, bug tracking, SDLC, and relational database integration.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently.
- Proficiency in documenting, explaining, and presenting task-related decisions and processes.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive materials.
- Willingness to work both individually and in group settings.
- Ideal: Experience implementing and maintaining data warehouses.
- Ideal: Experience with AWS RDS for PostgreSQL.
- Ideal: Experience with cloud environments such as Azure and/or AWS.
- Ideal: Prior professional services or federal consulting experience.
Responsibilities
- Administer Microsoft SQL Server, including replication, backup/restore procedures, capacity planning, reporting services, analysis services, and integration services.
- Migrate databases from SQL Server 2012 to SQL Server 2016.
- Provide systems administration support, including planning, execution, testing, installation, and configuration of hardware and software.
- Implement solutions for SQL performance monitoring and tuning.
- Support Microsoft technologies including Visual Studio Framework, VB.NET, ASP.NET, and Web Services.
- Configure and support virtualization technologies such as VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Perform routine backups of web, application, and database servers according to policy.
- Monitor database performance, manage storage, and provide extended hours of support when required.
