Requirements
- 5+ years of DBA knowledge and experience with MySQL & MariaDB.
- Experience performing database patches and major version upgrades.
- Deep expertise in High Availability, Replication, Disaster Recovery, and Backup.
- Production experience with Galera, MHA, or Orchestrator.
- Experience with group and transactional replication.
- Skilled in database design and architecture.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and instincts.
- Foundational understanding of Linux and Windows in a production environment.
- Foundational understanding of TCP/IP Networking.
- Willingness to learn Microsoft SQL Server if not already experienced.
Responsibilities
- Own the design, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of NMI’s MySQL database estate.
- Restructure database resources to meet performance, redundancy, and reliability goals.
- Maintain and administer Microsoft SQL Server environments.
- Manage and monitor all databases across multiple platforms.
- Contribute to the design and evolution of database architecture.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for database-related incidents.
- Perform incident root cause analysis and participate in blameless post-incident reviews.
- Collaborate with developers to resolve performance issues and support enhancements.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
