Requirements
- 15+ years of combined experience in the Canadian Armed Forces, intelligence community, or Canadian defense industry.
- Proven track record of building and scaling teams and winning complex defense contracts.
- Deep understanding of AI/ML applications in defense (GEOINT, ISR, C2, autonomous systems).
- Established professional network across DND, CAF, Public Services and Procurement Canada, and major industry primes.
- Strong business acumen in navigating complex government procurement processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Defense Studies, or a related field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active Canadian Secret (or above) security clearance.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate within a large matrixed organization.
- Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Defense Management) is an asset.
- Canadian Forces Staff College or equivalent military education is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the go-to-market strategy for the Canadian Defense & Intelligence market.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with senior decision-makers across DND, CAF, CSIS, and other government agencies.
- Identify, qualify, and lead the pursuit of complex defense programs and contract negotiations.
- Build a network of strategic partnerships with industry primes, SMEs, and academic research institutions.
- Develop and execute comprehensive business plans including financial targets and investment requirements.
- Serve as the senior representative and advocate for Safran.AI at industry forums and defense exhibitions.
- Recruit and lead a local team of engineers, data scientists, and business professionals as the business scales.
- Coordinate with Safran Defense & Space Canada infrastructure and local personnel to support mission requirements.
