Requirements

  • High school degree or higher (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of insurance plans and processes.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Chrome.
  • Ability to read and interpret medical requisitions and procedure manuals.
  • Previous experience in health care or clinical laboratory administration (preferred).
  • Previous experience in patient-facing customer service in health or wellness (preferred).
  • Previous experience in insurance billing, including verification, authorization, or collections.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other case management software (preferred).
  • Strong communication and telephone skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary contact for billing questions from patients, clients, and payors.
  • Provide support for billing-related issues, including explaining out-of-pocket costs and providing billing status.
  • Quote pricing, collect payments, and review patient correspondence.
  • Correspond with patients via phone, email, chat, or text.
  • Document all interactions thoroughly within Ambry systems.
  • Review, identify, and process billing-related documents.
  • Achieve one-touch resolution for incoming inquiries whenever possible.
