Requirements
- High school degree or higher (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of insurance plans and processes.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Chrome.
- Ability to read and interpret medical requisitions and procedure manuals.
- Previous experience in health care or clinical laboratory administration (preferred).
- Previous experience in patient-facing customer service in health or wellness (preferred).
- Previous experience in insurance billing, including verification, authorization, or collections.
- Experience with Salesforce or other case management software (preferred).
- Strong communication and telephone skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary contact for billing questions from patients, clients, and payors.
- Provide support for billing-related issues, including explaining out-of-pocket costs and providing billing status.
- Quote pricing, collect payments, and review patient correspondence.
- Correspond with patients via phone, email, chat, or text.
- Document all interactions thoroughly within Ambry systems.
- Review, identify, and process billing-related documents.
- Achieve one-touch resolution for incoming inquiries whenever possible.
