Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in startup or scale-up environments.
- Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
- Solid experience in API design, focusing on performance, security, and observability.
- Professional experience working with event-driven systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or NATS.
- Demonstrated ability to apply strong engineering best practices such as testing, code quality, and system resilience.
- Strong product mindset with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with product teams.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
- Professional fluency in English for an international work environment.
- Familiarity with RFC-style structured decision-making is a plus.
- Experience in scalable architecture design is a plus.
- Experience mentoring peers is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver backend capabilities from initial specifications to production rollout and rollback.
- Define and instrument success metrics in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
- Iterate rapidly on features based on experiment results, KPIs, and quantitative data signals.
- Build resilient, scalable, and cost-efficient backend systems tailored for high-risk experimentation.
- Diagnose and resolve complex production issues using logs, metrics, and observability tools.
- Strengthen team-level best practices, reusable patterns, and contribute to technical documentation and RFCs.
- Mentor peers through code reviews and collaborative pairing.
