Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR, absence management, workers’ compensation, or related case management roles.
- Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, PFML, and other state or federal leave regulations.
- Experience working with HR systems such as Kronos and Workday.
- Strong understanding of workplace absence policies, disability management, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong sense of empathy, patience, and customer service orientation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities in a high-volume environment.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and data entry systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end leave of absence, workers’ compensation, and accommodation cases, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and internal policies while coordinating with third-party administrators and internal stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary contact for employees and managers regarding absence-related inquiries, providing guidance, updates, and education throughout the leave lifecycle.
- Track, monitor, and maintain accurate case documentation, ensuring timely updates, reporting, and compliance with required regulations and internal standards.
- Coordinate with HR, payroll, legal, safety, and benefits teams to ensure proper handling of leave events, wage replacement, and return-to-work processes.
- Educate managers and employees on leave procedures, workplace policies, and return-to-work planning to ensure clarity and consistency.
- Identify potential issues or barriers in case progression and proactively implement solutions to support smooth resolution.
- Generate reports, conduct audits, and analyze leave trends to support operational oversight and continuous improvement.
