Requirements
- Deep expertise in modern application architecture, cloud platforms, and software engineering best practices.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale legacy modernization initiatives in complex, regulated environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading 30+ person development organizations with a mix of individual contributors and engineering managers.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and delivering AI-powered applications.
- Experience with Guidewire or comparable P&C insurance platforms.
- Ability to evaluate and implement modern low-code/no-code platforms.
- Skilled at developing managers through coaching and accountability.
- Ability to balance long-term platform strategy with near-term delivery commitments.
- Expertise in stakeholder communication and managing competing priorities across multiple business units.
Responsibilities
- Lead a large, complex development organization of 30+ staff including individual contributors and managers.
- Manage the Guidewire and P&C legacy application development team.
- Lead development functions for Life and Retirement, BCG, Supplemental and Group, and Distribution/Corporate Back Office lines.
- Drive meaningful transformation and modernize legacy systems to reduce technical debt.
- Develop and execute a prioritized application development roadmap across a multi-line portfolio.
- Partner with senior business and technology stakeholders to align technology investments with business value.
- Oversee the integration of AI-powered applications and evaluate low-code/no-code platform adoption.
