Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field.
- 7 to 10+ years of progressive tax and compliance experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting multi-state and multi-jurisdiction organizations.
- Experience managing relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
- Experience coordinating tax compliance activities across multiple legal entities or jurisdictions.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate independently and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Preferred: CPA, MST, or equivalent professional certification.
- Preferred: Experience with NetSuite ERP and Taxware.
Responsibilities
- Own and oversee U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance activities.
- Manage sales and use tax compliance, registrations, filings, and reporting requirements.
- Oversee tax compliance activities for the Canadian subsidiary in coordination with external advisors.
- Manage indirect tax compliance, including VAT, GST, HST, PST, and similar international obligations.
- Partner with Accounting leadership to support international expansion, including entity formation and licensing.
- Develop, implement, and maintain tax and compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Drive process improvement and automation initiatives for tax activities.
- Serve as the primary internal resource for tax and compliance matters across the organization.
