Requirements

  • 1-4 years of experience as a title abstractor or examiner.
  • Experience performing online title searches.
  • Familiarity with state guidelines and searching property tax jurisdictions online.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools including Word and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail for reviewing and entering data into reports.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment under pressure.
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary to meet client timelines.
  • High level of judgment regarding confidential borrower data.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze completed title searches from internal team for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to client-specific SOPs.
  • Examine, analyze, and evaluate deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, and other property records to determine ownership and encumbrances.
  • Analyze and understand chain of title and defects, and prepare reports outlining title-related matters.
  • Examine title records from outside abstractors and request additional information when necessary.
  • Synthesize all title search information to prepare property reports and title commitments.
  • Support the Customer Service team by communicating with clients regarding updates, clarifications, and order-related inquiries.
