Requirements
- 1-4 years of experience as a title abstractor or examiner.
- Experience performing online title searches.
- Familiarity with state guidelines and searching property tax jurisdictions online.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools including Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail for reviewing and entering data into reports.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment under pressure.
- Ability to work overtime when necessary to meet client timelines.
- High level of judgment regarding confidential borrower data.
Responsibilities
- Analyze completed title searches from internal team for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to client-specific SOPs.
- Examine, analyze, and evaluate deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, and other property records to determine ownership and encumbrances.
- Analyze and understand chain of title and defects, and prepare reports outlining title-related matters.
- Examine title records from outside abstractors and request additional information when necessary.
- Synthesize all title search information to prepare property reports and title commitments.
- Support the Customer Service team by communicating with clients regarding updates, clarifications, and order-related inquiries.
