Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a healthcare-related field.
- 3 years of direct CDI experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for audits, tracking, and documentation.
- Ability to independently research and apply CDI-related clinical guidelines.
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Approachable and collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively with providers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong interest in continuous learning and education.
- CDI Certification (ACDIS) required within 180 days of hire.
- 7 years of acute care nursing experience is preferred.
- Registered Nurse (RN) state license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform audit functions to assess CDI performance, identify knowledge gaps, and ensure compliance with industry standards and departmental policies.
- Oversee the auditing program to ensure accurate and compliant query practices.
- Support coworkers in meeting CDI quality standards.
- Analyze review findings to identify trends that misalign with policies and share findings with the CDI Education team for development.
- Act as a resource for CDI staff regarding clinical and coding issues.
- Develop action plans to identify and escalate knowledge gaps to the CDI Educator and leadership team.
