Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of industry experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing engineers.
- Background in financial services, specifically in credit or lending.
- Hands-on experience in post-origination modeling such as collections, repayment, recovery, or loss mitigation.
- Proficiency in machine learning (tree-based models, transformers, deep learning, and agentic ML).
- Strong engineering skills and ability to provide hands-on technical leadership.
- Experience working with complex codebases and large-scale system architecture.
Responsibilities
- Set technical strategy for the ML engineering team focusing on repayment, collections, recovery, and loss mitigation projects.
- Act as a force-multiplier through definition and advocacy of technical solutions and operational processes.
- Partner with product management, design, analytics, and risk teams to manage technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs.
- Develop team talent by providing regular feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
- Contribute to a cohesive long-term ML strategy while working across architecture and large systems.
