Requirements
- Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of direct sales experience within the PBM, pharmacy services, digital health, healthcare technology, or health insurance sectors.
- Demonstrated success consistently achieving or exceeding multi-million-dollar sales quotas and securing large enterprise accounts.
- Extensive network of benefits consultants, brokers, healthcare executives, and industry decision-makers across national and regional markets.
- Deep understanding of pharmacy benefit management, formulary management, specialty pharmacy, clinical programs, rebate structures, and healthcare cost-containment strategies.
- Proven expertise managing complex, high-value sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and extended negotiation processes.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and executive-level relationship-building skills.
- Strong negotiation, strategic planning, and consultative selling capabilities.
- Ability to develop creative solutions, overcome objections, and adapt commercial strategies in competitive market environments.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with resilience, accountability, and a strong results-oriented approach.
- Experience working within healthcare, insurance, managed care, or pharmacy benefit organizations is highly preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities and maintaining strong client engagement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy focused on accelerating revenue growth and expanding market presence within the pharmacy benefits sector.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities by targeting enterprise organizations, health plans, employers, consultants, and brokers.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline through existing industry relationships, strategic networking, and proactive business development efforts.
- Lead complex sales cycles from prospecting and qualification through proposal development, finalist presentations, contract negotiations, and deal closure.
- Position innovative pharmacy benefit solutions effectively against traditional market competitors by emphasizing value, transparency, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, legal, and operational teams to develop competitive pricing models, customized solutions, and client-specific contract structures.
- Strengthen relationships with key industry stakeholders and decision-makers to drive long-term client retention and partnership growth.
- Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities to refine sales strategies and support business expansion initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and growth of existing sales and account management functions while fostering a high-performance sales culture.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and executive-level meetings to enhance brand visibility and generate new opportunities.
