Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience in electrical, mechanical, and controls systems.
  • 8+ years of experience in installation, testing, validation, and troubleshooting of complex building infrastructure systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and controls system principles in mission-critical environments.
  • Experience in commissioning, field engineering, or infrastructure project delivery at scale.
  • Ability to manage multiple field activities, teams, and priorities in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills with experience serving as a primary point of contact.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan, delegate, and coordinate technical work effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and strong documentation capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently in remote and field-based environments with high levels of autonomy.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% across the United States and work near major airports.
  • Ability to obtain required certifications such as NFPA 70E and OSHA (10/30) as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage on-site commissioning activities including inspection, functional testing, validation, troubleshooting, and startup of electrical, mechanical, and controls systems.
  • Coordinate and direct vendors, contractors, and field teams to ensure efficient execution of commissioning plans and schedules.
  • Develop and review commissioning plans, pre-functional checklists, and functional performance test scripts for complex systems.
  • Participate in factory acceptance testing and oversee equipment startup and system integration activities.
  • Serve as primary on-site client contact, ensuring clear communication, issue resolution, and strong long-term relationships.
  • Identify project risks, deviations, and technical issues, and support mitigation strategies to protect scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Review construction documents, shop drawings, and design specifications to ensure alignment with commissioning requirements.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including testing records, progress reports, and final commissioning closeout materials.
