Requirements
- 8-10 years of professional experience.
- 4+ years in clean energy project development (interconnection, owner's engineering, EPC management).
- 4+ years leading HV substation/collector design (345-500 kV).
- Proven delivery of at least 3 utility-scale projects through energization.
- Strong understanding of HV transmission, substation equipment, MV distribution, metering, relaying, and SCADA.
- Experience managing interconnection study processes in ERCOT, CAISO, or SPP.
- Advanced knowledge of steady-state modeling tools such as ETAP, SKP, or DigSILENT.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for cost and design analysis.
- Ability to lead preparation and review of interconnection applications.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and external consultants.
- Ability to work within 60 miles of specified hub locations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and review preliminary HV transmission, substation designs, and MV distribution designs.
- Manage utility interconnection discussions, applications, and dynamic model reviews.
- Coordinate with EPCs, engineers of record, and consultants to optimize facility design and execution.
- Develop technical specifications, design criteria, and standards for energy projects.
- Provide technical leadership for Independent Engineer diligence and project financing reviews.
- Resolve regulatory, permitting, and technical challenges across project lifecycles.
- Support EPC RFPs to define technical requirements and ensure cost optimization.
