Requirements

  • Experience in the fire protection industry with specialization in at least one of the following: sprinkler, low voltage, or special hazards.
  • Proven presentation and facilitation skills for training individuals and groups.
  • NICET certification.
  • Demonstrated PC skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • In-depth knowledge of NFPA, state/local codes, and regulatory standards.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills to motivate and train employees.
  • Ability to travel approximately 60% of the time.
  • Physical ability to use ladders, lifts, and scaffolding, and access confined spaces, attics, and basements.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license for company vehicle operation.

Responsibilities

  • Confer with management and employees to identify training needs and work situations.
  • Formulate teaching outlines and select instructional methods including individual training, group instruction, lectures, and workshops.
  • Develop training presentations and instructional aids such as manuals, demonstration models, and multimedia visuals.
  • Conduct training sessions including on-the-job, refresher, and system-specific training.
  • Coordinate training schedules with Inspection and Division Managers to meet corporate business needs.
  • Report trainee progress to management and maintain accurate training records.
  • Provide technical assistance to employees regarding specific inspection task execution.
  • Represent the company to customers and AHJs to resolve non-compliance or site discrepancies.
