Requirements
- Experience in the fire protection industry with specialization in at least one of the following: sprinkler, low voltage, or special hazards.
- Proven presentation and facilitation skills for training individuals and groups.
- NICET certification.
- Demonstrated PC skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- In-depth knowledge of NFPA, state/local codes, and regulatory standards.
- Effective leadership and communication skills to motivate and train employees.
- Ability to travel approximately 60% of the time.
- Physical ability to use ladders, lifts, and scaffolding, and access confined spaces, attics, and basements.
- Possession of a valid driver's license for company vehicle operation.
Responsibilities
- Confer with management and employees to identify training needs and work situations.
- Formulate teaching outlines and select instructional methods including individual training, group instruction, lectures, and workshops.
- Develop training presentations and instructional aids such as manuals, demonstration models, and multimedia visuals.
- Conduct training sessions including on-the-job, refresher, and system-specific training.
- Coordinate training schedules with Inspection and Division Managers to meet corporate business needs.
- Report trainee progress to management and maintain accurate training records.
- Provide technical assistance to employees regarding specific inspection task execution.
- Represent the company to customers and AHJs to resolve non-compliance or site discrepancies.
