Requirements
- Experience owning production infrastructure at a startup or small team.
- Deep proficiency in TypeScript.
- Experience running services on a major cloud provider (GCP preferred).
- Understanding of trade-offs between serverless and long-lived VMs.
- Ability to work autonomously and communicate decisions clearly.
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on team outcomes.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Pulumi.
- Familiarity with multi-region deployment and autoscaling.
- Experience with polyglot persistence (MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
- Background in developer tools or API ecosystems (OpenAPI).
Responsibilities
- Own the platform infrastructure supporting Scalar products including Docs, SDKs, and API clients.
- Manage infrastructure as code using Pulumi and TypeScript.
- Operate and scale services using GCP Cloud Run and Compute Engine.
- Maintain the eventing and async backbone including Pub/Sub and Cloud Tasks.
- Develop and improve internal tooling, CI pipelines, and developer experience.
- Ensure observability and operational health using Sentry and structured logging.
- Contribute to frontend and backend feature development as needed.
