Requirements
- Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
- Practical experience designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows and improving them through iteration.
- System-level thinking: ability to define specs, break down plans, and instrument verification.
- Proficiency with Postgres (or similar relational databases).
- Experience with CI/CD processes and tools (e.g., GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins).
- Demonstrated AI fluency and ability to apply automation/AI capabilities.
- Nice to have: Functional programming experience (e.g., Elixir, Erlang, Scala, Clojure, Haskell).
- Nice to have: Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or AWS.
- Nice to have: Familiarity with Next.js, React, Vue, or Angular.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and participate in cross-team initiatives for HR and Payroll products.
- Provide feedback on product work, suggest solutions, and offer technical expertise for product improvements.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
- Contribute to the shared codebase and perform code reviews.
- Debug and resolve technical and business issues.
- Participate in non-team activities such as support rotations, hiring, and RFC discussions.
- Mentor and provide guidance to other engineers.
- Investigate and implement platform improvements with a focus on performance, accessibility, and API design.
- Redesign engineering workflows using autonomous agents and build reusable agentic primitives.
- Develop verification loops to ensure code reliability, security, and scalability.
